Wilsons Prom Leadership Retreat

Our first ever event was a leadership retreat run by Intrepid Landcare at Wilsons Prom. The 25 young people who attended climbed Mt Oberon, helped the Friends of the Prom undertake environment work, did some leadership training, and designed real life environmental projects.

Planting 4,000 trees in Woolamai

Our first tree planting was a massive success where about 60 young people planted 4,000 trees on a property overlooking western port. Attendees were treated with cups of tea and organic local produce from Udder and Hoe.

Kayaking the Macalister River to Map Willows

Location: Macalister River (BELOW LICOLA)

In order to help the West Gippsland CMA manage willows in the upper reaches of the Macalister River, we kayaked an inaccesible section and mapped willows for future maintenance. Afterwards we camped overnight and survived a pretty hectic storm.
