2023 Events

Plant and Dance

LOCATION: West creek
WHEN: july 2023
PARTNERS: BASS COAST LANDCARE NETWORk, Bass coast shire council, koala awareness program

4,500 trees planted!

Thanks to EVERYONE that came and helped put these plants in the ground. Because of this effort we have been able to create a critical bio-link in a patch of remnant indigenous vegetation in Bass Coast. In the years to come this area will increase critical habitat for our native flora and fauna and sequester carbon. We hope everyone had a great time, embraced the mud and danced the night away with our amazing local artists.

Kayaking the Macalister River

LOCATION: glenmaggie
WHEN: Feb 2023
PARTNERS: gippsland recreation outdoors, wgcma

There were some sore and tired bodies walking around after the last pair pulled in after our kayaking event. It was all worth it…around 15 willows were identified along the stretch of river and plenty of food was waiting at the finish line.

Huge thank you to Paul and Jade from Gippsland Recreation Outdoors for guiding us down the stretch of river. The crew will head back down to remove the remaining willows.

The organising committee work hard to run events, so when people turn up with smiling faces we really appreciate it!
